Yes, we really should be matching socks… the mismatched sock basket is nearing a full blown crisis situation. But no, we are watching a movie instead. After finishing Charlotte’s Web last week as a read aloud, I told the kids they could watch the movie this afternoon. I have the original version. On VHS. Anyone know what that is? My kids don’t. They were nearly in tears before the movie even started just trying to understand the “rewind” button.

But the real tears started once the movie got rolling… Julia cried about Wilbur nearly being killed for the crime of being too small while the boys discussed what kind of shotgun they would use to kill a pig, and Lauren repeatedly said “puppy”(the only word she knows for all living creatures).  And then there were the questions about how could Charlotte have 514 babies and no husband, and how do spiders even die, followed by more crying from Julia.

Yeah, maybe we should have just matched socks…
