  1. Süleymaniye mosque was a highlight of my 3 days in Istanbul. Like the mosque in Üsküdar, it was built by the great, prolific Mimar Sinan, and like Süleyman’s daughter’s, incorporated a small neighbourhood “town” with a hospital, school(s) and facilities for its people. This is an important aspect of the caring that went into planning these beautiful and lasting projects.

Your photos are beautiful and inspiring!

There is a story to my determined effort to visit this special place. You can find it by searching for Süleymaniye on the front page of my blog.

    1. I will look for your story now. Thank you Mytiturk for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it. Having left Istanbul now, I miss it and what I miss most is the atmosphere and ambience. I am very lucky to have lived close to Süleymaniye mosque so I could visit it often. 😊
