One thing that has made a big difference in my life is changing how and what type of media I consume so I’m slotting this into the self-care challenge to encourage myself to remain mindful of this.
I don’t know about you, but during lockdown I found myself consuming a lot of news just to get a better idea of what was happening in the world and to stay on top of the latest developments in the pandemic. It gave me a somewhat sense of control but it didn’t add much to my quality of life. In fact, I think it did the complete opposite.
I found myself reading more and more news out of fear and at the same it, I found that a lot of the news I was reading was also triggering fear and sadness in me.
So I decided to put myself on a news-free diet and I began to intentionally move towards choosing books and podcasts that inspired my sense of creative agency and challenged me to think outside my box.
So today I wanted to share with you some of the podcasts that I’ve enjoyed in the hopes that you’ll do the same in the comment section below.
Podcast: Dive Deeper by Jen Carrington
The reason I love it: Maybe it’s because I feel the need for a little coaching in my life that I connect with Jen and her core message of diving deep into who you are to bring more joy into your life. I’ve been listening to Jen for the past two years and her podcasts have really helped me gain a sense of clarity when it comes to finding my brand voice. She has also taught me the importance of trusting myself and not succumbing to comparing myself to others. Her podcast’s are short and relevant if you are a woman like me looking to show up online authentically. Each episode comes with worksheets to hold space for you so that you can dive a little deeper and apply what you’ve learned.
Podcast: Dinner for One by Sutanya Dacres
The reason I love it: I love a good story about a woman who challenges her insecurities in order to find her strengths and shares with us how her life transforms along the way. And there’s food and wine to boot! Sutanya shares recipes with her insights of what happens when a Paris fairytale ends and real-life begins, one solo dinner at a time.
Podcast: Hashtag Authentic by Sara Tasker
The reason I love it: For the many interesting female creatives that Sara interviews. I love listening to their stories and finding myself not only being able to relate to their journeys but also taking away new insights into my own creative journey. Sara has introduced me to many inspiring women who I now follow and learn from online or through social media. Sara is also well known for her instagram storytelling skills and her insta-retreats which you can find out more about on her website. She also shares practical instagram strategies rooted in authenticity on her podcast.
Now over to you! What podcasts inspire you? 🙂
