About

Meet Martina

Eternal optimist. Sushi lover. Insatiably curious.

Hello!

I’m so glad you’re here.

In 2023, my husband and I moved to The Netherlands. Before this, we lived in the south of Italy and Istanbul. I started blogging in 2015 after going through a very difficult transition in my life. Writing became my way of anchoring my experience, preserving my truth and sharing it with others.

In 2021, I changed the name of my blog to Chasing Delight. I had overcome so much, married an amazing man who had stood by me as I went through the healing process, and found myself ready to invite more joy into my life and to chase delight. Now here – if you haven’t already guessed it – there is a play on words. Chasing delight for me is also a reminder to chase the light no matter how dark the world around me might get. It’s about finding ways to cultivate resilience and to share that light with others through storytelling and photography.

Right now what I am focused on is building up my writing practice. Much of what I write here are works in progress and notes – things I’ll return to later and maybe modify or add to. My greatest influence is the personal essay.

I am a graduate of the London School of Journalism and spent most of my professional life as an educator. In my previous life, I also studied administration and photography. My hobbies include macramé, cooking (I am a foodie 🙂 ), going out for long walks and exploring new places.
